Finance Training for Directors (FT4D)

Description

Consisting of four modules, this series helps new and experienced directors build knowledge and confidence in monitoring financial health as part of their oversight role. Topics include understanding financial statements and key indicators, an overview of the budgeting and planning process, and evaluating monitoring reports.

Session leaders Leslie Watson of Columinate and Brittany Baird of NCG emphasize the importance of seeing the co-op's story in its financial statements and evaluating financial performance in context. Directors will come away better able to understand financial reporting, have greater confidence in evaluating the impact of financial challenges, and be able to ask relevant questions.

Each of the four modules is broken into 20-30 minute subunits of instruction plus a brief quiz. Completion of the series is part of the Foundations for Directors certification.
